Call it what you will but walking alongside just one person in need IS the way we change the world. I have watched and lived such a miracle firsthand.

Over a decade ago after bringing our daughter home from Ethiopia I was led back to explore how we might make a positive impact toward women’s savings programs, family reunification and anti-trafficking efforts. Our family began to champion a community in the rural village of Chapa, Ethiopia. Partnering with Children’s Hopechest and their indigenous staff gave us a way to encourage education, life skills and so much more from afar. I spent a decade leading teams to be in community within Chapa, Ethiopia. We still sponsor projects and children working toward an education today. My Chapa community will always be my home away from home.
